Where To Find Me

"Find something that makes you happy and do it. Everything else is just background noise." - George Mason - '24'
"At times the world can seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe us when we say there is much more good in it than bad. And what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events, may, in fact, be the first steps of a journey."

If you have landed here by chance, welcome. If I already know you from somewhere else, remind me!
By training I am a psychologist and a educationalist. To put it another way, I have pretty pieces of paper that suggest knowledge in those fields.

If you want to get in touch with me, either leave a comment in my latest post, or email me at destiny2909@hotmail.com.

"Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'" -Mary Anne Radmacher

Disclaimer I

I make quite a few graphics using Paint Shop Pro 9. At the moment I don't have the time to make as much as I used to, although it's still something I occasionally enjoy when I have the inclination.

I currently have 100+ icons, about half of which I made myself. Any of them (unless otherwise mentioned) are up for grabs. Credit isn't necessary. I myself am a bad credit-giver... Because, lets face it, there are children dying needlessly from a lack of basic medical provision and mothers who are giving birth in unsanitary and often dangerous conditions. Who gives a fuck about a couple of uncredited icons? Get a clue.

Disclaimer II

I talk about a lot of stuff that is neither important or interesting to anyone apart from me.

Friends Policy

This journal is pretty much all friends only. As a general rule, I only add people who are at least 21 years old. I can't be doing with the teen-y angst thing any more.

Notes of warning:

Firstly, I love making new friends and warmly welcome new people to my journal. Just comment on my first post and I'll add you right away! However, I expect a few things from you...

1: Update! It is rare that I will go more than a week without making an update... From personal experience, I have found that I very quickly lose track of people who go more than a couple of weeks between updates and forget what is going on in their lives. Losing track quickly leads to losing interest. Then not bothering to read when they do post because I can't remember what happened before, which swiftly leads to de-friending. Which isn't a good time for anyone.

2: Comment on my journal occasionally. I'm by no means talking about every post. Just occasionally will do. It just shows to me that you are still interested in me... It's just when people never comment that I feel like I'm letting a stranger know all my deep, dark secrets. ;)

3: I won’t do add-backs if you wRiTe LiKe ThIs. Because you are obviously an idiot. TruFact. Nor will I do add-backs if you are a Russian spammer. Indeed, strike that, I won't do add-backs if you are Russian. (not)Sorry.

A note on friends etc. I use filters. Some are based on subject, some of level of privacy. I view LJ as a series of conversations: some I would have in an open place (public). Some I would have round the table in a busy pub (friends locked). Some with a chosen friend, round my house, with a hot chocolate/stiff drink - hence the filters.

Occasionally I add people just because they look interesting and I enjoy their journals. Strangely, even if they don’t add me back, I don’t begrudge them it.
